A ministry of Hikes Point Christian Church, OnPoint Student Ministries exists for the students of our community. With 35+ schools represented in our ministry, we are seeing students have the ability to impact our city in a major way. We seek to create a space that is for every student. Whether you are an athlete, a musician, an artist, a gamer, an extrovert, an introvert, a homeschooler, a private school student, a public school student, a combination of any of these, or something not listed we want you to know that you are welcomed here.
We have a passion and hope to see a generation marked by the story of Jesus. We desire to do this through our ability to build relationships with our students. Here at OnPoint Student Ministries you will find a community that is proud to call themselves a family.
We believe that you cannot develop relationships without authenticity. There is something so powerful when you are able to fully embrace the beauty of who you are. When you mix in the ability to share that beauty with others, it is amazing how we see God move. When we open up who we are and allow God to be a part of it, we see transformation, empowerment, and boldness in the ways in which we live. This allows us to step into who God has already created us to be.
God has created us for connection and this happens when we invest in relationships. We desire to be more than just peers who hang out together on a Sunday morning. We desire to be friends and family. We desire to be your cheerleader when you are playing your sport, performing in your concerts and plays, or supporting your art. We desire to encourage you when life gets you down. We desire to walk with you through your greatest joys and your deepest sadness. We were not meant to go through life alone, which is why we value our relationships.
With divisiveness increasing within our world today, we believe one way the church can set itself apart is its unity. In fact, Jesus actually prays this in John 17 that through unity, “the world may know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.” The fact is we all have different stories, different passions, and different talents. It is when we are able to unify ourselves together, finding a common mission that we see how God can utilize us collectively.
